 Juliet Jackson was born in Ohio on February 1st, 1985 and will be turning twenty four.
She grew up on a farm with her parents and was in charge of helping her mother out around the house and taking care of the smaller animals. Because she didn't have an older sibling to take care of the things she was afraid of, she's overcome a fear of spiders and other creepy-crawlies and has been toughened up to dirty work. She's happiest walking around in her bare feet and sitting on the old tree swing her father hung when she was little.
She lived the majority of her life on a farm filled with animals, so she's always felt close to animals and became a vegetarian shortly after her sixteenth birthday. Julie continuously tries to get her dad to become a vegetarian because it's a healthier lifestyle, but he keeps resisting. Julie has gotten him to start watching what he's been eating, though, and he claims he doesn't cheat but he really can't resist the cinnamon buns Julie makes when she stays with him.
Julie's mother died a year ago and it killed her inside, but she had to be strong for her father and she believes that is one of the major reasons she didn't lose it after her mom died. Now she and her father are closer than ever and she often drives the three hours from Maine to her tiny home town to see her dad and make sure he's not cheating too bad on the 'okay' food list she gave for him. Her mother died suddenly, so she's worried to death about him constantly and calls him whenever she can.
She absolutely loves to do anything crafty - cooking and sewing above everything else. Her apartment is decorated with quilts and she spends a lot of time in the kitchen, hovering over a cookbook. Her more sucessful creations get taken to her coworkers but her dog takes care of the not as sucessful ones.
Julie has one dog, Monroe Pierce, and a pygmy African Hedgehog, Styx Manly. She got Monroe when she was a teenager from the pound and he is her main man in times of trouble. Monroe is always up for a good hug and gladly eats all the mistakes Julie makes in the kitchen.
Julie always knew that she wanted to do something that dealt with people so she went and got her nursing license at OSU and moved to Maine, mostly to get out of the little podunk town in Ohio. There, she found West Burough and fell in love. While some of the staff doesn't like her very much, most of the patients she deals with do. She's patient and usually works with younger and high risk patients.
Julie has been working at West Burough for about a year and a couple months and she already thinks this is probably where she's going to stay. The few patients under her care provide her with entertainment in the form of stories and just talking to her in general because they all have such different personalities. Granted, sometimes work sucks - she's gotten more than one bruise on the job, but things are usually calm.
Loves: animals (dogs and dinosaurs, specifically), her boys, coloring, baking, getting tattooed, horror flicks of all kinds, when it rains, taking baths, adopting more pound babies, anything colorful, playing the harmonica, taking pictures, going shopping, her family , candy, being comfortable.
Hates: animal cruelty, eating meat, when candy gets all sticky and melty, too-hot days, too-cold days, brusslesprouts, not having her mom around, when things accidently get burnt in the oven, people who carry their dogs around in little purses, mean people, extremely high heels. |
